Roelandt saw art as a temporary event - a performance - that could be documented via photo and video. An archive full of photo prints and negatives, films, videos, sound recordings, and the most diverse objects used in it was the result. In the film 'Painting a still life' he played with the traditional way of presenting. He colored black-and-white photographs or painted everyday objects.
